Classic horror fans likely noticed the familiarity: this is very similar to the iconic design of Count Orlok from Nosferatu. ![]() Even more noticeable is the way her ears develop points that jut out on the sides. Their flight was hijacked, and Nadja did her best to save everyone on board, but in the end, she failed and everyone except Elias and one other passenger became vampires. Nadja is bald with sharp features, but as she further devolves into her predatory form, her facial features become sunken and eventually lose their definition. A woman with a mysterious illness is forced into action when a group of terrorists attempt to hijack a transatlantic overnight flight. Netflix’s Blood Red Sky sees Nadja reveal her true nature as a vampire while on a transatlantic flight with her son Elias. On the flight, all seems well until a group of men announce that they have. Whilst the mother is taking her medicine that causes her great pain, the son befriends a fellow passenger at the airport. Unlike the contemporary vampires in Legacies and The Originals, or the demonic, almost orc-like appearance popularized by Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Nadja has a more distinct aesthetic. It centers on Nadja (Peri Baumeister), a German single mom with a mysterious illness who's flying to New York with her young son Elias (Carl Anton Koch) in hopes of getting experimental. And yet, Netflix’s Blood Red Sky which tells the harrowing tale of a woman named Nadja (Peri Baumeister) and her son Elias (Carl Anton Koch) fighting to survive an airplane hijacking. Blood Red Sky follows a mother, Nadja and her son, Elias who are getting on an aeroplane so the mother can seek treatment for her mysterious illness. Throughout this tale, we're given pieces of Nadja's origin story and how Elias has basically grown. When the plane is hijacked and Nadja is shot, the audience learns the truth: Nadja isn't sick - she's a vampire! As the movie progresses and she further embraces her monstrous side, Nadja's physical appearance gradually transforms into a less human, and more predatory, appearance. Chronically ill mother Nadja and her precocious son Elias are on a flight to New York, where Nadja will undergo an experimental treatment for her mysterious condition. Blood Red Sky fuses the typical scenario of an action-thriller with a supernatural horror story. ![]()
